Our party will set realistic targets to increase funding to close the funding gap and ensure we are providing enough support to match the scale of these issues. Find our more here.
Medicare support for psychological care has been problematic for many years now. Our detailed plan for reform to the system will reduce gap fees, expand access for those who need it, and ensure that there is 'no wrong door' to start getting help. Find out more here.
Healthy emotional and social development are the cornerstone of good mental health for young people. While the Australian national curriculum has some mental health content, it is embedded as theoretical material within the health and PE syllabus. Our party will develop national guidelines for the integration of applied positive mental health principles across school education. These guidelines will help young people to identify and manage their feelings and build healthy social relationships, both at school and into later life. Find out more here.
